Late last week, news broke that B.B. King was under home hospice care at his Las Vegas residence. Blues fans around the world feared the worst and began sending prayers and well wishes to the legendary “King of the Blues.”

I feel often times, folks can see a person fall ill and begin to mourn them before they have even passed away. Instead of providing a mournful tribute, I decided to produce a joyful celebration of the time that we have left with B.B. Think about this, we’ve been blessed to walk the same earth as this amazing man; and he’s provided us all with so many incredible memories. So enjoy an hour of B.B. King music, this week, with collaborations between B.B. and his friends, covers by his peers, and tributes from younger stars who were inspired by Mr. King.

The featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox” is “Thank You BB King,” a brand new digital single by Kenny Neal. Discussing this song, Kenny explains that B.B. has had a tremendous impact on his life and career. Kenny was summoned to visit with Mr. King, who proceeded to explain that he enjoyed Neal’s original songs even more than his covers.
